Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius has expressed condolences to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and all the people of Israel over the death of the former Israeli President and one of the founders of the State, Nobel Peace Prize winner, Shimon Peres.

Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius congratulated the Prime Minister of the Republic of Malta Joseph Muscat and the people of the country on the Independence Day.

On Thursday, at the Office of the Government, Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius has met with Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva Michael Møller, who had arrived in Lithuania on the occasion of the 25 th anniversary of Lithuania’s membership of the United Nations.    

Today Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius has met with Israeli Professor Dan Shechtman, a Nobel Prize laureate in Chemistry for the discovery of quasicrystals, and has discussed cooperation potential in science, innovation development, and investment.
