The Prime Minister invited Google to join in the roll-out of training programmes in Lithuania

Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis met with Google’s Chief Political Advisor Caroline Atkinson.

“Economic growth goes hand in hand with the development of digital skills and the latest technologies. We are pleased to cooperate with Google, particularly as regards company’s ongoing training in digital skills. This is definitely to add to the competitive edge of our businesses, and the society in general”, said the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister has also noted that the current educational reform will focus on the opportunities offered by digital and cyberspace and increased access to education and knowledge. The Prime Minister has invited Google to join with its platforms in the roll-out of new training programs across Lithuania, and thus in the development of a future school education system.

Caroline Atkinson has pointed out Lithuania’s leadership in the field of digitalisation, which is well illustrated by mobile applications business actively operating in our country.  Fishing apps Deeper is a good proof to that, “You can be proud of that”, said Caroline Atkinson, adding that Google sees the potential in further cooperation with our country.
