Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė has extended greetings to the State of Israel on the 75th Anniversary of the Independence.

‘Israel's path in the last 75 years is certainly remarkable and could serve as an inspiration to other countries looking to build a prosperous and thriving society. I am delighted that Lithuania and Israel have always been close allies and partners, with very strong historical and cultural bonds between our two countries. I am confident that we will continue working closely together in further strengthening our relations and the friendship between our nations.

Today, as the democratic world faces the trampling of freedom, it is even more important to maintain an international order that does not tolerate threats and aggression against sovereign states. Our people understand that independence shall not be taken for granted, therefore we must make every effort to advance the ideals of freedom.

For the peaceful future of the whole democratic world, it is absolutely crucial to stay united and to help Ukraine by any means possible. Ukraine’s victory is crucial for the rules-based international order and for a sustainable peace across the globe. May I wish you, Your Excellency Prime Minister, and the people of Israel peace, security, unity, and prosperity today and for years to come,’ reads Prime Minister’s message of greetings.
