Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė is sending a message of greetings, on behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania, to Denmark on the Constitution Day.
‘I avail myself of this opportunity to express my delight at the strong bilateral ties and dynamic partnership between our countries within the EU and NATO. I am proud to say that today our two nations remain committed to the shared ideals of liberty and democracy and are working closely together to build a prosperous Nordic-Baltic region, a strong and forward-looking Europe, and sustainable peace on our continent and beyond.
Denmark’s contribution to NATO’s presence in the Baltic region demonstrates the firm commitment of your country and the Alliance as a whole to defend our common values. I hope that important decisions on increasing the security of the eastern flank of the Alliance, on Ukraine’s future in NATO, and on defence investment will be made in NATO Summit in Vilnius in July.
I have no doubt about the continued prosperity of our nations and further successful cooperation between Lithuania and Denmark. As we focus our efforts on security and peace, I also hope that our two countries will continue to expand our cooperation, especially in the fields of business, education, culture, and people-to-people contacts,’ reads Prime Minister’s message of greetings.
