Prime Minister sends Independence Day greetings to North Macedonia

On behalf of the Government of Lithuania, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė congratulated North Macedonia on the occasion of the Independence Day.
"l highly value the friendly relations and cooperation between Lithuania and North Macedonia and have every confidence that these ties will continue to flourish for the mutual benefit of our countries, their people, and Europe as a whole, as we strive to build a peacefuI and secure future for the European continent," said the Prime Minister in her message to the Head of the North Macedonia Government, Dimitar Kovačevski.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of being united in strengthening sanctions against Russia and Belarus, appreciated North Macedonia’s support for Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic aspirations and pointed out that all those responsible for Russia's war against Ukraine are held accountable by establishing the Special TribunaI for the prosecution of the crime of aggression.
Ingrida Šimonytė also reaffirmed the Lithuanian Government's support for the merits-based EU enlargement policy in the Western Balkans and sent sincere wishes of the prosperity and well-being to the Government and all the people of North Macedonia.
