Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė is sending a message of greetings, on behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania, to Norway on the Constitution Day.

‘Lithuania highly values the friendship and close cooperation between our countries. Norway’s contribution to NATO’s presence in the Baltic region demonstrates the firm commitment of your country and the Alliance as a whole to defend our common values. I hope that important decisions on increasing the security of the eastern flank of the Alliance, on Ukraine’s future in NATO, and on defence investment will be made in NATO Summit in Vilnius in July.

I am proud to say that today our two nations remain committed to the shared ideals of liberty and democracy and are working closely together to build a prosperous Nordic-Baltic region, a strong and forward-looking Europe, and sustainable peace on our continent and beyond.

As we focus our efforts on security and peace, I also trust that our countries will further expand bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of business, education, culture, and people-to-people contacts. I have no doubt about the continued prosperity of our nations and further successful cooperation between Lithuania and Norway’, reads Prime Minister’s letter.
