Acting Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius has sent his greetings to Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, Māris Kučinskis, and the people of Latvia on the Independence Day.

“I take this opportunity to extend, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania and myself personally, sincere congratulations on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Latvia that you will be celebrating on November 18. I cordially wish you, your Government and the people of Latvia every success, prosperity and wellbeing in the future”, reads Prime Minister’s letter.

The Prime Minister says that Lithuania and Latvia share the common history and the two countries are not only neighbours but also close partners, and there are no doubts that the bilateral relations and the mutual support will only continue to grow in the future, be it on regional, European or transatlantic formats.
