Prime Minister sends greetings to Italy on Republic Day of Italy

Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė is sending a message of greetings, on behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania to Italian Republic on the occasion of Festa della Repubblica, the Republic Day of Italy.
‘I highly value the friendship between our countries and close cooperation in the EU, NATO, and other international organizations. Italy's contribution to the Air Policing Mission and to NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence in the Baltic States is very important in strengthening the security of our region and beyond.
Our unity in the face of Russia’s shocking and brutal invasion of Ukraine needs to continue. It is crucial that all leaders of democratic countries remain steadfast in showing their leadership and solidarity with Ukraine till its full victory.
While we, as the EU and Western democracies, have done a lot for Ukraine, it is nevertheless vital that we persist in applying pressure on the regimes of Putin and his accomplice Lukashenko through the strongest possible sanctions to ensure regional peace and stability’, reads Prime Minister’s message of greetings.
