Prime Minister’s greetings to the new Polish Head of Government

Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis has expressed warm greetings on behalf of the Government to Mateusz Morawiecki over his appointment as a new Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, wishing him every success.

“The year 2018 will be special in the history of our countries, as we will be celebrating the centennial anniversary of the re-establishment of the independence of Lithuania and Poland. May I take this opportunity to assure you that the Government of the Republic of Lithuania is ready to take further our bilateral dialogue and continue the joint efforts for the benefit of our nations”, reads Prime Minister’s letter.

The Head of State Saulius Skvernelis has also pointed out the importance of this time for the future of the European Union. Lithuania appreciates Poland’s role in shaping the European Union’s agenda to reflect the interests of our region and of the entire EU as regards the sustainability and security in the European Union.

“On this occasion, I would like to invite you to come to Lithuania on a bilateral visit in 2018 at any time of your convenience.  I look forward to our discussions on the issues of strengthening our bilateral cooperation and reinforcing the national security, as well as taking further the common goals of the European Union and NATO”, says Prime Minister in his letter.
