Prime Minister’s greetings to the Lithuanian Jewish Community celebrating the Chanukah

Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis greeted the Lithuanian Jewish Community starting the celebration of the Chanukah and thus inviting all the good-will people to join in.

“My warm greetings go to the entire Lithuanian Jewish Community. Chanukah offers great opportunities to reflect on our traditions and foster our fundamental values. It is good to see that this remarkable celebration of the Lithuanian Jewish Community is gaining ever greater public attention”, said Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis.

  The Prime Minister thanked the Lithuanian Jewish Community for their constructive cooperation with the Government and other institutions in resolving the issues of relevance.

“I am pleased with the ongoing restoration of Jewish cultural heritage, and the synagogues. Today, these buildings are used for the cultural and educational needs of the people in Lithuania. The work related to the registration and restoration of the Jewish cemetery is going on, efforts are made to promote the Jewish culture and the old traditions. In view of all this it is obvious that our cooperation will continue to grow and our joint efforts will continue to yield good results in the future”, says Saulius Skvernelis, the Head of Government.
