Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė has extended congratulations to Jonas Gahr Støre on the formation of the new Government and his appointment as Prime Minister of Norway.

‘Let me assure you of our determination to work closely with you and with the incoming Government in achieving the common goal of strengthening the bilateral relations for the benefit of the people of both countries. I am confident that our mutual cooperation will successfully continue to develop in all areas of common interest. Our shared values and the ever-increasing economic, cultural, and academic cooperation, as well as people-to-people contacts make our relations particularly strong and friendly,’ reads the Prime Minister’s letter.

The Prime Minister has underlined that Lithuania highly values very intensive and dynamic relations with Norway and close cooperation between the two nations in NATO and the Nordic-Baltic group.

‘I trust that our countries will continue working together in strengthening the Transatlantic bond and the ideals of democracy and freedom in the EU neighbourhood and beyond,’ reads the letter.
