Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė extended greetings to Canada celebrating Canada Day on July 1.

‘I avail myself of this opportunity to express my delight at the ever-closer bilateral cooperation between our countries and our joint commitment to further strengthen the NATO Alliance and our shared democratic values. I am delighted that the Lithuanian diaspora in Canada greatly contributes to the enhancement of the friendship between our countries’, reads the Prime Minister’s letter to Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau.

According to Head of the Government of Lithuania, in the face of Russia’s shocking and brutal war against Ukraine, it is crucial for the NATO countries to stay united and increase our support for Ukraine, defending the freedom of Europe and the values of the entire democratic world.

‘Lithuania highly values Canada’s contribution to NATO presence in the Baltic region and looks forward to working together to further strengthen the eastern part of our Alliance’, said Prime Minister who also expressed her gratitude for the decision to open a full Embassy in Vilnius which will contribute to the strengthening of relations between the countries.

On the occasion of Canada Day, Prime Minister sent her sincere wishes for well-being and prosperity for the people of Canada.
