Prime Minister expresses condolences to Mexico over the earthquake

Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis has expressed his deep condolences to Mexico over the devastating earthquake.

“On behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania, I express my deepest sympathy and sincere support for the country hit by the tragedy. I wish strength to the families of the victims and all the people of Mexico. We stand with you in this difficult hour of bereavement”, reads Prime Minister’s letter of condolences. 

On Tuesday, the 7.1-strong earthquake hit the country claiming more than 220 lives and destroying part of the capital city and its neighbourhood.  Rescue work continues, and the number of victims is very likely to go up.
