Prime Minister expresses condolences over the passing of the former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl

Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis has expressed heartfelt condolences over the passing of the former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl.

“Today the world has lost a great statesman and a visionary leader of his own country and the entire Europe. It was a towering continental political figure of the twentieth century. His name will forever be associated with the reunification of Germany and the consolidation of the European Union. This hour of loss has brought sadness to the entire international community, however, his extraordinary legacy will live with us forever”, reads Prime Minister’s letter.

The Prime Minister concludes his letter by wishing everyone mourning the death of Helmut Kohl strength to support each other in this difficult hour of grief.
