Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius greets Finland celebrating its Independence Day

Acting Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius has sent a letter to Prime Minister of Finland, Juha Sipilä, greeting him and the people of the country on the Independence Day.

"On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, I would like to express my sincere greetings to you all on the occasion of the Independence Day. The year 2016 has been extraordinary for our two states, as we have been celebrating the 25th anniversary of the restoration of our diplomatic relations. Lithuania highly regards the experience shared over all these years.  I am pleased with the relations between our countries that have been based on strong partnership, particularly as it regards our cooperation in the EU and NB8 formats", reads the letter.

The Acting Prime Minister has also expressed his wishes for prosperity and well-being to the Prime Minister and the people of Finland.
