Earlier today (April 4th, Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis  has welcomed China’s Ambassador Zhifei Shen to discuss the bilateral relations and thank for the visits of high-ranking officials to Lithuania.

“I have no doubts that our bilateral political, economic, and cultural relations will continue to grow and develop in the future. This is our mutual interest. We hope for a successful transit of Chinese goods and services across the territory of Lithuania and the port of Klaipėda, which is the gateway to the European Union markets for China”, said Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis.

The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation to China’s Government for the support for the 16 + 1 Agriculture Ministerial Forum and Agricultural Exhibition AgroBalt to be held in Vilnius this year. China’s Minister of Agriculture is very much expected to attend the event.

“16 + 1 is a good platform for both bilateral and multilateral co-operation. We are pleased about the growing momentum in trade relations between the countries. We have already succeeded to obtain export licenses for dairy products and beef exports to China. We hope grain will follow suit”, said the Prime Minister.

Saulius Skvernelis has extended invitation to Chinese companies to come to Life Science Exhibition to be held in September in Lithuania.
